King Tutankhamen's tomb is famous because when found it had never been robbed and was fully intact. It is one of the most intact tombs ever found.

Often when on an archeological dig you are lucky to find one shard of pottry or some griffti to tell the arcologist what happened in that location. In the case of "King Tut's" tomb not only do we have a compleate body (which is rare as most grave robbers, especially in Egypt, would destroy the body so that the soul would not haunt them), we have all of his possessions from his life and his death. We have learned more from "King Tut's" tomb than we have from most other sites combined.

The tomb is also famous because of the folk belief that developed after it was found and excavated that there was a curse associated with the. Thus developed books and movies with titles suchas "The Curse of the Mummy."
