Because 2 years ago the astronomers found out that Pluto is not a planet. It is too small to be a planet.

Some authorities are still rooting for Pluto! They still consider it is a planet, though very small.

Although it is no longer considered a true planet, Pluto is unique in several ways. It was the furthest planet from the sun, with the longest orbital period of 248 years; its orbit had the highest eccentricity of all planets, and it was the only planet to approach closer to the Sun than another, crossing inside the orbit of Neptune at times. It had the highest orbital inclination of all planets; it has the largest comparitive size to its moon, Charon, causing it to be called the only dwarf double-planet. It is the largest Kuiper belt object. It was unusual in that it broke the pattern of being an outer planet yet terrestrial like the inner planets (and not a gas giant); it was the only planet to be discovered in the 20th century, and the only planet to be demoted to minor planet (or dwarf planet, by the IAU in 2006).

Pluto has a highly eccentric orbit around our sun. Not only is it at an angle of around 17 degrees when viewed from the side, but its distance from the sun varies a lot. For some of its orbit it actually gets closer to the sun than Neptune.

They consider Pluto an odd planet because Pluto is so small and they think it dis-qualifies it from the planets. Also, Pluto has a tilted orbit and it is in the shape of an oval instead of a disk. Some people think it is a planet, while some people think it is a dwarf planet, or as you would say, an "odd planet". Some people even consider it not a planet at all.

The definition of a planet is an orbiting body that dominates its neighborhood.

Pluto doesen't do this. Its moon is almost half the size of Pluto, all the true planets are far larger than their moons. Also, bodies that dominate their neighborhood, clear asteroids, comets, and other debris from near their orbit path by drawing them to the planet, thus making the path of their orbit clear. Pluto's orbit is cluttered.

Astronomers do not conxider Pluto a planet any more. I think it is now calssifed as a dwarf planet; not big enough to be a plannet, but too big to be classified as something smaller.
