Potassium is an Alkali Metal, so its reactions will be similar to the other elements in this group. The reactions of Potassium you will likely need to know about first are those with water and acids. Both of these reactions are very violent and explosive, but the reaction with acid is by far the most so. The violent nature of these reactions is due to Potassium being highly reactive.
