As Kelly Johnson stated "it is very pointy"
The worlds fastest aircraft is the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird.
The SR-71 Blackbird is a military aircraft so it is illegal to buy it unless you are the military or government. The price of the Blackbird is also insanely high.
America wanted a surveillance aircraft. A surveillance aircraft, if detected by enemy planes can evade faster. So they built the SR-71.
The air speed record was set at 3530 kilometres per hour, by an SR-71 (Blackbird). Speeds such as this were commonly held by the aircraft while on missions, and was their only solution to an intercepting fighter or missile; simply hit the throttle so it couldn't catch up.
air force one is the designation given to any plane the president is on. If you mean the usual plane, it is a converted Boeing 767. The plane that holds most records for speed and time\travel is known as the SR71 Blackbird. Actually the president's usual plane is a converted Boeing 747 called a VC-25, and the SR71 Blackbird is the fasted air breathing plane, so there are other unmanned rocket powered planes that can go much faster and much higher
•The SR-71 Blackbird is the current record holder for a manned aircraft. it was an American made spy plane and it recorded images and zoomed in on land. it Was used during the cold war to fly at an extremely altitude (edge of space) it went so fast no rockets could shoot it down.
Personally, i think that the possibility of the military making a so called "black" project that isn't revealed to the public of a hypersonic aircraft is quite feasable. The public wasn't told about the F-117 Nighthawk for a few years, and during those years sightings of strange "diamond shaped" aircraft in and around Edwards AFB and the so called Area 51 (aka Dreamland, ect...) were made. There have also been sightings of a strange aircraft refueling from a KC-135J Stratotanker, that model of mid-air refueler is specially made for carrying the SR-71 Blackbird's fuel. And the aircraft that was seen was clearly not a Blackbird. So, the technology for such an aircraft exists in scramjets (engines that can operate up to mach 25, in theory), and it wouldn't be the first time that the military has kept an aircraft's existence secret. If i told you and more I would have to, well, you know the rest... ;-)
NO , but some are lost to mechanical failures. It is a fast aircraft , so fast that no missle is capbable to shooting it down
It reached a published speed of 2,196 miles per hour and it's unclassified speed was 3.3 mach. Actual top speed is now and forever will be classified. It flew so fast that the crews had to wait a few minutes after landing to let the skin cool down.
It is like any other jet aircraft. So it needs the same space for landing. The landing strip should be atleast 1-2 km long.
The SR-71 Blackbird can fly way much more higher than Missiles. So the SR-71 Blackbird win.
The SR 71 Blackbird was built for stealth so that it couldn't be spotted in the radars of opposite crafts
