Scoliosis is so bad because it causes the spine to twist like a spiral staircase as well as causing one side of the back to be higher than the other. If not treated properly, it can cause serious damage.
This is difficult to answer as every patient is different. Scoliosis should be monitored by a professional spinal surgeon who deals with scoliosis on a daily basis.
Curves can continue to progress but the worst time for this is puberty, my curve progressed to 76º before surgery was carried out
If a scoliosis curve is left without treatment (over 40º) it can affect the lungs and heart and present problems in the future
well it depends. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when i was 13 and i had to wear a back brace for 6 months but that didnt help me so i had to get surgery in December of that year. sometimes the brace can be really helpful to some people but unfortunetly the brace didnt help me :/ but i dealt pretty good with the surgery, it's really painful after but they give you medicine, but i can deal with pain really good so i woul just take Advil instead of being on morphine.. yeahh im cool like that :)
A disease is an impairment of health or a condition of abnormal functioning. Scoliosis definitely qualifies.
I was 18 months old when I had my first operation of scoliosis however mine was a bad case of scoliosis.
Scoliosis is when your spine curves. It can be cause by sitting and standing with bad posture.
i have it, it is very painful and the start but you get used to it
No. Scoliosis is a physical disorder, so it does not affect the emotions, mind, or brain.
game and food problem are Main cause of scoliosis so this carriers' are so bright
Yes, Scoliosis can cause headaches, depends on the type of curve and how bad it isScoliosis affects more than just the spine!
yes.....4 gals esp.
If the scoliosis is so severe that there is injury to the spinal cord, paralysis could result.
I have scoliosis and no one in my family has had it. So you can get scoliosis even if its not in your family history. There are 3 types of scoliosis, I suggest looking them up, I unfortunatly have the type that no one knows what's causing it. But the 2 other types are well know and if you have it they can probably do more for you than mine.
I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 11 and went to the doctor every 6 months. When I was 13 I was told that the curve was only 8. If the curve is 10 degrees and under then you are OK and your scoliosis has basically gone away. So to answer your question scoliosis does go away.
Scoliosis can worsen if it isn't taken care of properly. Go to your doctor and talk to him/her about physical therapy, and if your condition is really bad, maybe a brace for your back will help.
Well I have bad scoliosis but I have a brace. The person is probably lop sided but I'm not I have two curves one at top and one at bottom both are big but not quite 50 degrese. They also will be sore I can barely move anymore! But you should get a x-ray mine you could barely see from looking at it but was big in a X-ray
