Why can't a sheet of paper be folded more than eight times?

It is hard to explain, but it basically amounts to the size to fold ratio. A large enough, thin enough, sheet of paper can be folded more than eight times, but it has to be the size of a football field in order to do it. 128 layers of paper is a lot to fold in half to get to 256!

Are cloth and fabric the same thing?

No, and yes. because cloth could be like a towel, or a face cloth or something like that, or a piece of cloth which would somewhat be the same as fabric, though fabric, there could be lots, and lots, way more than the cloth, which could still affect the fact that they are the same. So it all depends really, on what your referring to and such.

Why does folded paper go farther than unfolded?

Is T10 folded steel blade stronger than non folded T10 steel?

The way I understand it is the process of folding the steel or pattern welding causes a laminated type steal blade that is more flexible than a solid blade of the same steel. When it is folded it is not molten together but bonded. If it was molten together it would not have the characteristics of a laminated blade but a solid piece as if smelted. Think of a laminated piece of wood against a solid piece and you can understand the difference in flexibility and overall strength. Like that of a laminated bow. The laminated blade would flex more and be less likely to break, strength is typical of the hardness of the steel as well. So in a way it would be stronger because of flexibility but you have to take into consideration the hardness. I would research into differential hardening techniques used by sword craftsman to learn more. Hope this helps. Jerrud

Which side does the napkin go on?

For general place settings, the napkin is usually place on the left of the plate. This works with cloth or in more informal settings paper napkins. In some settings a cloth napkin is decoratively folded and placed in a glass, or directly in front of the plate. It is also acceptably for it to be folded neatly and placed on the plate. Why cloth does not have plural?

Cause theres only 1!ANS2:It does have a plural. When referring to more than one piece of cloth you say cloths. Example: He selected two soft cotton cloths to wash the car. It only turns into a count noun when referring to a quantity of cloth. Ex: There were many different types of cloth for sale at the store so I bought several cloths (denim, corduroy, silk, etc.) That is to say, if you use cloths, that implies more than one discrete piece or type. There is a pound of cloth in the bag. The weight of the cloth totals to a pound. It really isn't important to know what sort of cloth. There is a pound of cloths in the bag. There are more than one type or there are pieces such as wash cloths and they all total to a pound.
