Can mosque be used for social acitivies?
It depends on the country and the mosque in particular. Many American Mosques have separate room for community functions and are larger to accommodate both a Musalla (prayer area) and a General Room. In the Middle East, mosques are typically smaller, especially outside of cities and only have enough space to pray. Community activities cannot take place in the Musalla. There must be a secondary room if these activities are to take place in a Mosque.
