Best Answer

A neutron star is what is left of the core of a massive star after it dies. The core collapses under the force of gravity, crushing itself from a size far larger than Earth to about the size of a city but still with a mass up to 3 times that of the sun. If it is any more massive it becomes a black hole.

Why are neutron stars so heavy?

Neutron stars are so heavy because they are the compact core of a star that is 8 time the mass of our Sun. The most massive neutron stars possible are 3 times the mass of our Sun.

How heavy is a pin head size neutron star?

It would not exist. A neutron star is what it is by virtue of the mass of the whole star. Extracting just a pinhead would revert that matter back to normal matter. For the sake of density - as weight has nothing to do with matter outside of a gravitational body. The denisty of a pinhead of neutron star would be the equivalant of about 100 times the mass of the Great Pyramid of Giza

What is spinning neutron star called?

It is still called a neutron star. Depending on how we observe it, it may also be called a pulsar.

When a collapsed core becomes so dense only neutrons can exist there a what is formed?

A Neutron Star

What is A rapidly spinning neutron is called?

A young neutron star. Really - that is what a neutron star is. If the neutron star's magnetic field is pointed towards Earth, then it is referred to as a pulsar - because of it's rapid pulsations [See related question] but it is still a neutron star.
