Red color is uesed for stop traffic signal bcos the red color having the highest wavelength.so, it is visible from the longer distance even in foggy atmosphere as compared to the other spectrum colors

∙ 12y agofor some time now red has been used and considered to be regarded as a sign for danger, therefore in order to to signify that its dangerous to continue at this junction a red light at traffic signals is obviously stating that you need to stop. a green light signifies that it is now safe to continue on your way. Hence the reason red lights are also used on the rear of cars to show that they are slowing or coming to a standstill.
