They don't have any harmful effects on the body. If it was legalized though, I could imagine people using them whenever and end up getting in accidents while high on shrooms. Yet, people already do that with alcohol, so I honestly don't see a problem.

The main worry is that when you are drunk your defenses are weaker and thus the risk of slowing down the effectiveness of the drug is increased.
