an ore has a metal inside it with economic value inside it that makes it different from any other normal rocks, if it has economic value t will obviously be quite alot of the metal in the ore and it will be quite heavy and will most likley be heavier than other rocks.
hope that helped, sorry for long answer :(
if the rock contains an ore, then metal. diamonds, gold, other precious stones / minerals.
Ore from eroded and deformed rocks
[Rock-forming] Minerals are the chemical compounds that make up the rocks, but the distinction is a bit woolly because an ore could be regarded as a rock.
Agricultural lime, building stone, concrete aggregate, road gravel, glass ore, brick and ceramic ore, antacids, cement
common well it depends on where you are Iron is common in most places and it is not uncommon for Iron ore to be mistaken for just orange to brownish colored rocks on the ground
Concentrating an ore is when you remove all the sand, rocks and other useless material from the ore. All ores are concentrated so that the percentage of the metal in it is increased.
usually by crushing in a hammer mill until everything (ore and rock) is fine dust. then there are various ways to separate them depending on the type of ore.

ore
Concentration of ore Unwanted rocks, sand and grit from the mineral ore are called gangue or matrix. These have to be removed so that the mineral ore is concentrated with higher percentage of metal. Ores are mined from deep within the earth's crust in the form of rocks. The minerals are embedded in these rocks. The rocks are first crushed into smaller pieces by crushers. Then they are ground to powder by ball mill and other processes so that powdered ore is obtained. Depending on the type of ore, hydraulic washing, froth floatation process, magnetic separation and chemical separation techniques are applied for concentrating an ore.
Ancient Egyptians extracted iron ore from rocks using a combination of heating the rocks in fires to break them down, and then using various tools to extract the iron. This process involved a series of steps including crushing the rocks, smelting the ore to separate the iron from the rock, and then shaping the iron into tools and weapons.
Ore grinder is a kind grinding mill to grind the ore, rocks, stones, minerals into powder.

it comes from the earth...the earth made diamonds, rubys and other special rocks
The presence of significant amounts of metal compounds in the rocks.
Granite ore, and magnesium peroxide
Rocks, water, ore etc
