Well, for starters, the obvious one is that the organism does not need to look for a mate. The time spent looking for a mate could be wasted, but in asexual reproduction, all the organism needs is itself. Like an amoeba splitting into two. A disadvantage to asexual reproduction is that the original organism is destroyed, making two new organisms in its place.
