The reason why astronomy is important to the world is because we need to know when the next meteor showers are, how strong they are going to be, and we wouldn't now know that the world is possibly going to end in either 2012, or 2036. OK? :) Go tell your friends, to never under estimate astronomy.

astronomy
Astronomy aims to help the world learn more about the Universe and its contents. Astronomy is the study of the Universe and involves a lot of research on the wonders outside of Earth, such as different galaxies and the planets of the solar system. There are many types of Astronomy, too.
The study of all outside the world's atmosphere.
Science is all about finding out how the world works. Astronomy does that too, ergo, it is a science.
Just as astronomy mapped the solar system and universe, chemistry actually has already become the "astronomy of the molecular world." Scientists used macroscopic manipulation of chemicals in the laboratory to learn about and understand the microscopic world of the atom and molecule in the nineteenth century. This knowledge has and must be expanded as the molecular "world" is mapped and manipulated.

A: Astronomy is the study of the cosmos, the universe, the outside world. I believe that there are two types of people: those who chose to learn about their past, and those who chose to learn more about their present. Astronomy helps to learn about our present, past and future, so everybody can find some area of astronomy that interests them.
