Hello cobber, OK I have had to remove it and clean it as it wasn't working well. I wish other car makers made it so simple to access- firstly open the bonnet so it is Straight up then you will see where there is a black mesh plastic grill this needs to come out. The fan is centrally located under the Wiper motor. Its all straight forward, there is a plastic plate that needs to come out held with clips. I am typing this from memory as I did it a few years ago. The fan is located inside of it. Think yourself lucky you have a Mercedes, a friend has a later Holden Car and to access the Blower in that, the windscreen had to come out and the WHOLE dash. part cost to repair $ 70 for part plus $2,000 to remove and replace Windscreen and whole dash and install.
