when bull riding you stay on as long as you can, you dont stop at eight seconds. i think its just a rule that a rider can only score if they stay on for 8 seconds, i think its for a challange

We ride with the men , we don't get any special rules we ride with them. We ride for 8 seconds and get a bull from the same pen at the rodoe assocation draws from as the men and we ride with one hand too. Yes its a crazy sport but that's why we live for it!
