Carbon dioxide is a gas pumped into a drink to form carbonic acid. It gives an acid, that is tart, taste and as the gas comes out of solution it tickles your nose. Why is it "allowed" in drinks. I would say because it is not toxic and easy to obtain.
CO2 is a chemical symbol for the compound known as carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is those bubbles dissolved in your soda pop.
C02 is Carbon Dioxide

The symbol is: C02
Carbon dioxide.
Carbon dioxide is very soluble in aqueous solutions. There is a lot less C02 in blood than in even flat soda. In general there is an equilibrium between C02 and H2CO3 and then H2C03 disassociates into H+ and HC03- and it is the change in pH that triggers the physiological response.
Carbon Dioxide is given off because when the gasoline combusts C02 is left
Carbon Dioxide, or C02
Carbon dioxide is a compound as it is the elements carbon and oxygen fused together in a chemical reaction. The chemical name for carbon dioxide is C02
Carbon Dioxide or scientifically C02 Hence "carbon"ated
The ratio oxygen/carbon is of course 2.
