There is also starvation to consider in a situation of overpopulation. Overpopulation is a problem for humans also. In some states, if there aren't enough deer killed in hunting season, sharpshooters are hired to reach a quota. If no deer were hunted, in some states they would be over-running residential areas, increasing car accidents, and become too common in places with a high human population density.
