We should create awareness for AS for a few reasons, 1. It is reletively new or new in US when Hans Asperger's work in the 1930-1940s was translated into English some decades later. 2. Some people do not think AS is a real issue either because of the habits that are often associated to those who are nerds/geeks or loners, or even by the name Aspergers itself. 3. AS is often overlooked or the people are misdiagnosed such as being treated for ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, and ticks.

Teenagers and young adults often have depression first, before the first manic episode.
