Evolution is most certainly not a religion. It is a valid scientific theory with a large body of evidence to support it.

Religion is defined by dictionary.com as:

"a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs."

Evolution does not concern itself with the cause, nature, or purpose of the universe. Nor does it involve devotional and ritual observances, or contain a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

The theory of evolution is an explanation of how life forms change over time and why life on Earth is so diverse. It is supported by large amounts of empirical evidence found in anatomy, genetics, embryology, and the fossil record.

It is accepted by both the religious and non-religious alike.
