The gullet is used as a transport 'tunnel' to move food from the mouth and into the stomach. In order for digestion to take place, enzymes must be present- all of which require different conditions to catalyse the breakdown of molecules effectively. For example, enzymes in the stomach work efficiently in acidic conditions.
Towards the bottom of the gullet there is a muscle which contracts and acts as a barrier to stomach acid and therefore prevents it from rising up into the oesophagus. Ever had heartburn? That is when this muscle is slightly faulty and allows acid to creep up the oesophagus. This can cause damage to the oesophagus which could essentially prevent food passing down and into the stomach.
gullet
A paramecium eats by using it's cilia to sweep bacteria or food in it's oral groove, which then goes to it's gullet, where it is digested and then the digested fooed is sent to the food vacuole.
It is just a tube to allow the food bits to get into the stomach. Food doesn't need to be digested in this part of the digestive system.
The mouth chew the food first, a muscle at the back of the mouth forces the food down your gullet and the gullet's muscle forces it down into your stomach.
Chyme is simply the food that has been digested in the stomach. It doesn't have an exact job, except to be further digested and and absorbed in the small intestine.
The gullet is basically the esophagus and also called the food pipe.
The gullet in a paramecium is a vacuole within the organism that is formed through invagination of food.
simple during digestion the food passes from the stomach to the gullet. It's the pathway for digestion to be fully complete.
Yes it is a change of state when the food is being digested. Solid food particles are changed into semisolid type of liquid in the stomach where it is further digested. Food molecules have to be changed into simple units before it can be absorbed into our cells.

Gullet is a synonym for esophagus.
A gullet opening is the opening of the second part of a frogs mouth. This is where this second opening begins.
