Why is fricton necessary to drive a car on a road?

Actually the good effect of friction is: if you drive a car you can make it stop, friction makes it stop. But the bad effect is: friction wears out machines so you can replace it. Hope it helps! :)

Also with no friction the tires would just spin and go no place, and steering would be a problem.
