God's word is alive because when applied, we can benefit from it. According to 2 Timothy 3: 16,17 all Scripture is beneficial for teaching and setting things straight, so that we can be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.
Which means that the inspired Word of God is beneficial in a number of areas, and all those who want to benefit from it, have to adjust their own attitude and actions, bringing them in harmony with God's will.
The Book of Isaiah 48: 17,18 brings forth the fact that God's intention is to guide us to benefit ourselves, and he almost begs us to pay attention to His commandments, and assures us that the outcomes would be peace and righteousness.
The Book of Hebrew 4: 12 has this to say. " For the word of God is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to dividing of soul and spirit, and of joints from the marrow, and is able to discern thoughts and intentions of the heart.
That "word", or message of God, gave a hope of life to those who choose to apply it, confirmed in the Book of John 17: 3 .
