Every Video Game has to end. Bungie has made the last halo. Not the last Halo Game. Bungie has given the Halo Franchise over to 343 Studios. They have said they MIGHT make another Halo Game.

Oh, dude, Halo 2's ending is so legendary, it's like the holy grail of video game endings. It's got twists, turns, and cliffhangers that'll leave you scratching your head and begging for more. So yeah, it's safe to say that Halo 2's ending is pretty darn legendary.
Halo: Reach is the ending of the Halo games, it shows that the halo games were a story. It started with the first one, and they were all looking for the Halo which you find in the en of the game. There won't be anymore Halo games so that's why your spartan finally died in the ending and the Covenant was pushed off of planet Reach
The forerunner planet is what Master Chief drifts forward to in the legendary ending of halo 3.
