Because nature itself is not divided into 'disciplines' they are only imposed by humanity. Each can then only ever give small glimpse of a tiny part of nature, with no important 'context' or comprehension possible of the complete picture.

Much important progress in understanding comes from finding new views and aspects of apparently familiar things. 'Assumption' is the worst enemy of science, and we use it all the time.
