Why is it a sin to become a witch?

Because you are worshiping a false God. God, the one who sent Jesus to die for are sins so that we don't rot in hell is the only God and you should worship only him. The Bible has this to say about witchcraft: 10Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, 11or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. 12Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. 13You must be blameless before the LORD your God. (Deuteronomy 18:10-13) 19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

There are as many answers to that question as there are practitioners. You could just as easily ask why some people want to be doctors, or mechanics, or school teachers. A personal calling is just that "personal."

I can not answer for any other person out there who calls or considers themselves a witch, but for myself, I have always been a witch, my great-grand-mother, my grand-mother and my aunts and two uncles are all, to one degree or another, witches.

Growing up, I didn't think anything about it any more than I would have thought about being raised Presbyterian, or Muslim, or Buddhist.

Our faith, our ethics, our behaviour and our life style were all wrapped up into one big "way we are" and I can not imagine trying to untie that Gordian knot.

These days I am high priestess for an eclectic pagan circle, and have found many others who think, believe, behave and are much like me.

Some but not all of them call or consider themselves witches.

Some, who are no different from the others in the group would not under any circumstance call or consider themselves witches.

In our group, and generally speaking in the pagan community, that is fine, we do not find it essential to "label" ourselves nor anyone else.

The only reason to be or say you are a witch is for attention , the best attention turn to God worship our lord . Really read your bible pray truthfully. God will show youy power . God is great I fear no demon.
