Actually, it is 'allowed' to eat horses. People do it all over the world. It's just a cultural thing that stops people doing it. I suppose it could be because originally, your horse was also your transport, so too valuable to eat, whereas cows are bred for meat.
They can but they usually eat mammals like zebra, horses, or cows.
§Cows are kept in the field, too eat and get exercise.Horses are allowed in fields for exercise and to for leisure.•Sheep live in fields. you missed out butterflies and earth worms

Horses and cows are herbivores that graze on grass.
No. They are strictly herbivores like cows and horses are.
Why should it not be allowed What people eat is a simple mater of culture (what they are used too) I doubt if the cats feel any worse about it then do the horses in Holland or the cows pigs chickens etc in other places.
Yes, they all do.
Llamas don't dance, and nor do they eat hamsters. They are herbivores, they eat grass like cows and horses do.
Herbivores are animals that eat only plants - such as sheep, cows, horses, deer and elephants.
Horses don't eat tree, they eat grass, carrots, peppermints, and apples! No horses allowed in the world to eat tree, that could kill 'em!- John Adams of Nevada
Actually, if there is nothing more interesting to eat, cows and horses will certainly EAT straw. Straw is often used as bedding in horse stall, and many horses eat it. However, straw has about as much nutrition as foam packing peanuts and horses and cows cannot live on such a deficient diet. It's a bit like asking if children eat dirt. Of course they do, but they couldn't live on it. Hay is the proper fodder for farm animals. No, farm animals like horses and cows eat hay, which has nutritional value, but do not eat straw.
Horses should not be allowed to eat goldenrod plants. The toxin is present in both the dry and green plant.
