It's dangerous to take ANY medication that isn't prescribed to you. It might conflict with other meds you're taking. It might make an existing medical condition worse. You don't know the doses. There are lots of reasons.
Ans 2.
There are more than 120 reasons not to take Seroquel except under the close supervision of a doctor; there are more than 120 known side effects, two of which are potentially fatal.
Note. Seroquel is often known by its generic name of Quetiapine.
Yes. Seroquel and Lexapro are commonly prescribed together. While 600 mg of Seroquel is quite a large dose, as long as that was what was prescribed it's fine.
Seroquel is recommended for adults. There are still being studies conducted about the affects of children using it. I was prescribed it from the ages of 12-18
Anything not prescribed by the same doctor. You should ask your doc on that one.

Im schizophrenic and take seroquel and clonazapam...AKA Klonapin.. clonazapam is just the generic form of it..Also while your on these 2 medications. DO Not Drink ALchohol....ive ended up in the hospital 2-3 times because of overdose because alchohol Intensifies the medications. I had to learn the hard way..anyways hope this helps.
Seroquel should ONLY be taken according to your prescription. A person on Seroquel needs to take their meds the way that they're supposed to, in the time frame that they are supposed to, to keep a steady level of the drug in the body. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, and not a sleep aid. The important thing is, if you are on Seroquel, you need to take it properly. Don't just stop taking it; you need to be "weaned off". And if it is not your prescription, you should NOT take it. Anti-psychotic drugs taken by a person who doesn't need it can be dangerous, including having long-term permanent effects such as Tardive Diskinesia. Actually Seroquel IS prescribed by a lot of doctors as a sleep aid. It's an anti psychotic medication that can be used to help you sleep. I have a prescription for it as a sleep aid myself actually.
I know an older lady who is actually prescribed 40mg x 3 plus 200mg of Seroquel, but I would NOT recommend doing this. She has been taking these medications for years, and unless your doctor gives the okay, do NOT mix these. Seroquel will knock you on your ass, and not in a good way.
Yes you can. I take 400 mg seroquel and 300 mg bupropion daily and I feel fine. However, both medications lower the threshold for seizures. When you take them together, this means that the chance that you will have an epileptic seizure will be bigger. Be careful with alcohol.
As many as your doctor prescribes for you. If it isn't prescribed, none. Seroquel is a medication with many side effects and should only be used if you and your doctor decide there are clear benefits that outweigh the potential risks. -A social worker who works closely with psychiatrists (Seroquel is a psych drug!).
regular seroquel is about an hour and seroquel xr takes about 4hrs
Seroquel actually comes in 100, 150, and 200 mg pills. Some people actually take 200 mg doses. However, if that was not the dose intended for you, and especially if you feel funny, call the doctor that prescribed it to you. It will probably be okay, but it is better to just be on the safe side. Don't drive or anything potentially dangerous until the feeling wears off.
vyvanse in the morning and seroquel at night
I don't know if this helps but I am a 41yo man and i am prescribed Klonopin and Seroquel (Klonopin is about the same drug as Valium, same family but i think klonopin is a little stronger) anyway I take them both at the same time in the morning (1mg Klonopin, 300mg Seroquel) and at night (2mg Klonopin, 300mg Seroquel). I also take 1mg twice during the day. I have no problem with it except the Seroquel makes me drowsy and hungry. My Dx is Bi-polar schizo-affective and general anxiety disorder. Hope this helps.
