The intensity of sunlight, or irradiance, is an important factor for primary production in the ocean. Irradiance is measured in photons arriving per square meter per second, and varies depending on the time of day, the season, and weather conditions. The photic zone is that portion of the ocean that receives sunlight. Only low levels of light reach the deeper layers of the ocean because most of the light is absorbed by algae just below the surface and as depth increases light is absorbed by the water itself. When fewer algae are present, the photic zone extends deeper. The depth of the photic zone can also be affected by seasonal mixing of ocean waters. In the spring, for example, deep water is circulated toward the surface reducing sunlight penetration due to suspension of particles from the bottom. Most primary production occurs within a depth of 200 m.
The coldest water in the ocean is the bottom of the ocean.
Yes its blue in the ocean because of the particles floating around and the ocean. Water is clear by itself
No. There is water at the bottom of the ocean. There is oxygen in the water that a fish can breath in through it's gills.
The Titanic is still at the bottom of the ocean.
There are fresh water lakes
Through solid matter and certain other things in the other phases.Answer:Visible light cannot travel through opaque materials. However enough thickness of any material can eventually block out light. As an example, even though sea water is transparent, the bottom of the deep ocean is dark as light is incapable of reaching through miles of water
in brackish waters with good mud at the bottom not in very cold water not in very warm water basically and ocean, bay, stream, and river though
The arrangement of water masses in the southern Atlantic Ocean from the surface to the bottom is Antarctic Intermediate water, north Atlantic deep water, and the Antarctic bottom water. The location where water flow uninterrupted between the Pacific, the Atlantic, and the Indian Oceans is in the southern ocean.
bottom of sea/ocean in water
Benthic, it pertains to the botoom of the ocean or any body of water.
because the sea reflects the COLOUR of the sky
At the bottom of the Mariana Trench (Pacific Ocean), where water pressure is about eight tons per square inch.
