When light is directed at transparent materials, it bounces off of the particles and is refracted accordingly. This causes the light to bend according to the materials refraction index. The higher the refraction index of the material, and the thicker it is, the more it bends the light and separates the colors.
White light contains the many colors you see. The illuminated object will absorb and reflect the light as its' materials see fit. A black object will absorb all colors. A white object reflects all colors. Everything else lies in between there somewhere.
I dont know but i think dark colours are more absorbant that light colours i hope this helps
It depends if it is a transparent object it may split the light and make colors, like what a crystal does. You can see colors because of whatever the light shines on, it does NOT attract the color you see. (don't know how to say that...)

White light is a mixture of different colors. Different materials have different surface properties; as a result, one material may reflect a larger percentage of red light, and a smaller percentage of other colors, such as blue or green light - thus, it will appear red. Another material may reflect more green light than other colors, so it will appear more green.
Pastel colors are colors that hide under names like soft, pale, washed-out. On the saturation scale in colors these colors are darker than whites and lighter than light colors. White-colored and black-colored materials are exceptions because, white-colored materials reflects all the colors or all the parts of the visible spectrum because white's composition is all the colors and, black-colored materials absorb all the colors while reflecting none because black is merely the absence of any color although black is sometimes described as a color. In other words, white is composed of all the parts of the visible spectrum that is why white-colored materials reflect all the light. In the other hand, black do not reflect any color or any part of the visible spectrum but absorb all of it because black is the absence of spectral light or simply the absence of light.
