On a hot day the shortening (butter/fat) in pastry will soften or melt. This makes it bind differently to the flour and reduces its ability to help incorporate air into the pastry. Good pastry is made in cool conditions and baked quickly at a hot temperature.
Pork pies :)
Because when the air is hot if you breath it in it will make you sweat more and then all the water in your body will make sweat and you will dehydrate
A small hot dog wrapped in pastry. Very Tasty!
There is a specific "pork pie " pastry, designed for the purpose. It is based on "hot water crust pastry".
A filling doesn't make a particular item a pastry. As a rule of thumb, baked items fall into two categories: Sweet and Savory. If the hot dog bun were to be baked with more sugar in it, or were to be glazed, then you could consider it a pastry. Regardless, the honey & peanut butter combination is always a pleaser!
short pastry (the most popular and can be sweet or savoury) rough-puff pastry suet pastry flaky pastry hot water crust pastry choux pastry
I suggest you don't do this. The filling will most likely taste awful in the pastry.
