Because it's slippy and you would just fall over
It's difficult to walk on ice because the lack of friction between the ice and your shoes makes it easy to slip. Walking on sand is challenging because the loose granules shift under your weight, requiring more effort to maintain balance and move forward.
If there were no friction between your soles and the pavement, you would be unable to apply the force needed to walk forwards. Think how difficult it is to walk on ice where the friction is low.
Ice
Ninety-eight percent of Antarctica is covered with an ice sheet, and it's uneven, filled with crevasses and is difficult to walk on.
Only walk on clear ice that is at least 4" thick.
Ice skates have less surface area in contact with the ice. I'm a figure skater, and I think for most people who have never ice skated before, walking on frozen ice is easier, because you are use to walking, and you have more of you touching the ice, while in ice skating you only have the bottom of a blade but the blade is sharp metal so it grabs the ice in a way shoes slip n slide on ice
Warm ice melts and turns into water, and no. Polar bears dont walk on water...
Walking on a slippery road is difficult because there is reduced friction between your shoes and the surface, making it challenging to gain traction and maintain your balance. This can cause you to slip and fall, increasing the risk of injury. Your muscles have to work harder to stabilize your body, making walking on a slippery road more strenuous.
Ice is seriously more slippy.
It is not easy to walk on ice sheets because there is very little amount of friction between your shoes and the ice sheet. Whee there is not enough friction between your shoe and the ice sheet, you will slip very easily.
It may be slippery.
They slid across.
