Roman Catholic AnswerBecause Jesus told us in the Gospel that the way we would be judged would be feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, visiting the sick, etc. (the Corporal Works of Mercy) and CAFOD is one way in which Christians perform their God given responsibility to do that.
