We must be sinless in Gods sight to make it to heaven problem is no one demonstrates sinless perfection in this life now. The only one who ever lived a sinless life was The Lord Jesus Christ. The scriptures say speaking of Christ that " He who knew no sin became sin for us that we might be made the rightousness of God in him"
That is when we believe the Gospel God does a wonderful thing he counts us sinless in his sight and perfect not by what we do but by what we believe about Jesus Christ.
The Bible calls this "Imputed rightousness" Romans 4:5 says "to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for rightousness"
The Gospel is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-7. The bible teaches that all men are sinners Romans 3:23 we inherited our sin nature from Adam when he sinned against God in the Garden so every decendant of Adam (Alll humanity are born separate from God as sinners deserving Gods judgment for our sins. Romans 5:10 6:23 when we believe in our heart the Gospel , how that Jesus Christ the son of God willingly gave himself and died on the cross in our place and that God raised him from the dead the third day God counts us rightous in his sight.
So as a man inherits Adams sin nature by birth, when a person believes in Christ atonement for his sin God counts him sinless by faith alone. The bible says "as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive" Its not how good we thing we are its what Christ did for us all on the cross.
