It is important because everything we have is made from non-renewable things.

• Paper comes from trees. The world cuts down a football-field amount of trees every five seconds.
• Plastic comes from oil. Oil is becoming harder to find and more expensive.

Everything we use should be recycled, so it can be used again.

We have to stop throwing things away.

Here are some good ideas:

• Write on both sides of paper.
• Drink from glass or reusable hard, plastic cups instead of throwaway paper or throwaway plastic ones.
• Use cloth towels and napkins instead of paper towels and napkins.
• Turn old clothes into new clothes by trading with a friend.
• Take a cloth bag to the grocery store instead of using a paper or plastic bag.
• Use the comic pages from the newspaper or old maps as wrapping paper.
