Omigosh. The writer doesn't write just to write. The writer has something that just sticks out of his heart so much that he longs and just has to write it or he explodes. He wants to describe what's in his mind to the reader.

∙ 13y agoAfter reading a book, if we still have to recognize the purpose of it's author in writing that book, it is only logical to assume that the book did not serve it's purpose and that the book is a bad one, unfit for human attention. A skilled author would know how to convey his message. When we have read a good book, it's purpose and message would have enveloped us as the coldness of mist or the sweet warmth of sunshine. Then we needn't recognize the purpose, we can feel it.

∙ 10y agoIf we know and understand the main purpose of a task it helps us stay focused on the task until the end. When we donÕt have an understanding of why the task at hand needs to get finished on time, then we lose the drive to finish on time.

∙ 8y agoThe author's purpose is to persuade, inform, and entertain. So if we know the author is trying to persuade us, we need to understand the author is biased. If the author is informing us, we need to check if the author is an expert on the topic he is writing about. If the author is entertaining us, then we should seek out more material by this author to continue to be entertained.
