You should keep your computer free of it because anything you type as well as any information that is on the computer can be transmitted back to the creator of the spyware. I would go with SuperAntiSpyware or MalwareBytes. You can get SuperAntiSpyware by going to atotalnetworksolution.com, then go to the Anti-Spyware page. Free anti-malware products do not keep your computer from getting infected, they clean up after the fact. Paid products do active scanning and keep the machine from getting infected.

There are plenty of ways to keep spyware out. An important one is to keep your version of windows updated. You can do this by going to : http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com Also make sure that you keep Spybot SD updated. You can check for updates right in the SD program. In SD there should be a button the left called Immunize. Make sure you immunize your computer, this prevents spyware from getting on in the first place. Also, go to http://toolbar.google.com And install the google toolbar. This has a built-in popup blocker that help minimize your spyware. Personally, I would get rid of MS Antispy. I don't think it's worth it.
