Since water does not burn, any moisture in the combustion air will simply be heated by the fire. Since water has a large heat capacity, this results in wasted energy. The drier the combustion air the more efficiently the burner will burn.

What is pf fired boiler?

For getting better efficiency from boiler, coal is pulverized in mills (powder form) before entering into boiler along with hot air. This is done in order to control damage to boiler tubes and plates due to high (but cheap) sulphur content in coal. These types of boiler are usually called super critical boiler and works on high pressure (3600psi) and temperature (610 degree C) unlike sub critical boilers. alok bh.

What is boiler feed water pump?

Boiler feed pumps are an important part of any boiler operation. They control the amount of water fed to the boiler and the manner in which it is fed.

Really strong smell coming from your back boiler when you turn on the heating It smells like the fumes are entering the room you have turned off the gas hoovered all the dust out please help?

It is important that you do not use the boiler and turn the gas off. You must then ask a professionally qualified gas plumber or engineer to come and test and overhaul your boiler. If you do not do this your boiler could let Carbon Monoxide gas into your house and this will kill you. Don't mess with Gas!!!

What does boiler blowdown means?

Boiler blowdown is required to prevent corrosion by removing impurities that contribute to its formation in a steam boiler and to facilitate the generation of pure steam by preventing the carryover of impurities. Why Boiler Blowdown is Required? Proper blowdown procedures are necessary to maintain the solids content of the boiler water within specific limits and to quickly eliminate contaminants if the water becomes contaminated.

What is the deaerator device used for?

A deaerator device is a mechanism found on steam boilers. Its purpose is to remove oxygen and other gases from the water that is entering the boiler tank, since the presence of oxygen or gases can cause corrosion on the inside of the boiler.

What is the function of economizer in bent tube boiler?

The flue gases, after leaving the main boiler and the superheater, will still be hot. The energy in these flue gases are used to preheat the already preheated feed water once more by means of the economizer. The economizer is a heat exchanger mounted in the first part of the chimney to improve the thermal efficiency of the boiler. In broad terms a 10°C increase in feed water temperature entering the boiler will give an efficiency improvement of 2% of last mentioned.
