when you appointed for the position,you have been agreed with the job description as part of a contract with the employer. so it is your legal responsibility to adhere in your defined role. it is your duty to understand the expectations of your job as well as understand professional boundaries. in order to be successful in your job , it is essential to be a respectful and accountable. try to use as a means of assessing performance within the job. unquestionably,one day you find the word thanks and you will experience promotion. ∙ 11y agoI guess the most straightforward answer here is that if you try to do someone else's job , you may neglect vital aspects of your own role which will not go unnoticed by your employers, especially if something major gets overlooked. The other side to this of course is the growing trend towards multi-tasking, multi -skilled approaches where rather than having one job, the employee is flexible and skilled enough to step into other roles as required. You have to be clear about what your own situation is but generally if you can add value to the company though the use of multi- tasking then your own value as an employee rises.
