If you're still married to a man and are dating, no, he just doesn't have to pay it. But if you're divorced and dating, I don't know, sorry.
WHAT!? Dating has zero bearing. If he is the Dad, he pays. End of story.
No.Dating does have bearing. My state has a new law saying if you're dating the dad and not married ,he doesn't have to pay.But I heard it's if you live together but I also heard it wouldn't matter if you live together by DSHS officials.
You heard wrong. I was at Seattle housing and talked with a social worker there today. The father MUST support their child no matter how the mother behaves or who she dates. If the guy will not marry you after a kid, dump him though. That is only common sense. A father has the responsibility to support a child period.
I suggest you file a complaint with your State's department of labor.

Child support and child custody are handled separately. In most cases delinquent child support payment does not affect the rights of the father. The father can still petition to avoid you moving the child out of state but, doesn't necessarily mean it will be granted. Unless both parents can come to an arrangement/agreement in what's in the best interest of the child.
