most common answer. Its because your electric fan is not turning on when it reaches the required temp. Meaning that perhaps, the fuse is blown, the fan is broke, or a wiring issue. quick fix. cut the hot wire from the fan and wire it to some thing that goes hot when you turn on the ignition, until you are able to fix the thermostat on the fan located some wheres on the radiator. draw back, fan runs all the time. but i have yet to see how thats a problem.
how to hot wire the car. I lost my kets .
it can be either your maf sensor or your fuel pump
basically because it's hot. Parts swell more than they should, friction increases and lubrication begins to fail. You need to address why the car is running hot. I'd do this real soon!
On top of the reservoir on the passenger side of the motor. It will say Caution do not remove when hot!. There is not one located on top of the radiator itself.
•Meteor •Something made of METAL that has been sitting in the sun •Mars? idk
There are many reasons as to why a Sunfire may be running hot. Most likely the car is running low on coolant, or other fluids.
I just changed this out, to get to this from under the car. I put the car up on ramps. From there it's between the the oil pan and tranny. It's a tight fit for your hand. Make sure your car has been sitting to cool down for atleast for an hour. Even then the tranny and oil pan is hot, so be careful. ( it's on the back of the engine block)
These are after-market modifications, and are pretty straightforward. I'd GOOGLE "Sunfire cold air intake" to see what's around. Also, check some of the auto shops in your area. If you see one where all the kids with the hot little Japanese cars hang out, you can bet they'll be helpful. FriPilot
Oil pressure is low or thereis a defective oil pressure switch. You need to pot a pressure gauge on it when it is hot.
Conduction
the fan is controlled by sensors and a switch and comes on if the coolant is too hot - mostly after you cut the engine off or in slow traffic. If you are overheating in traffic and it doesn't come on somebody has to check the circuits out to find the problem.
check your coil it could be warming up and expanding inside might be internal crack
