After independence, the various parts of karnataka namely hyderabad karnataka,
mysore karnataka, coastal karnataka & north karnataka were united together & karnataka state was formed. This was done on Nov 1st of 1950 i believe. From then every year Nov 1st is being celebrated as the formation day of karnataka state called as kannada rajyotsava. Great day for all kannadigas world wide.
