The predator eventually learns to associate certain bright colours with danger, so they avoid eating animals with those colours, poisonous and non poisonous alike.
What happens is a non poisonous species that look similar to poisonous ones are confused for being poisonous by the predators if they're colourful. The ones that look the most similar aren't eaten, and they're the ones who survive and pass on their genes, causing the following generations to look more and more like the poisonous ones.
It's sort of "accidental" natural selection.
mimicry is a good adaptation because it hides animals away from their preditors
hide from any predators that would kill it
it helps because animals can mimic other animals to draw in prey therefore making it easier to catch food
Mimicry can help animals survive by allowing the animal to avoid being eaten. It can act like a predator and scare away its own predators. There are many such examples of animals acting like something else to survive.
By helping them look like a different animal, therefore the animals will not want to eat them.
Mimicry
