The Abs computer has deteced a malfunction and set a code or the fuse for the abs computer has blown.
frist the brake light looks like its on but its just the glow of the antilock light it is very bright. the antilock is on your rear axle needs replaceing.
Answering "How do you replace the brake pads on a 2004 Dodge Durango limited with anti lock brakes?"
In my 1989 Dodge Dakota the brake light is on fuse number13 it is a 5amp it also goes to buzzer, speed control, check engine light, anti-lock warning light, and other things page 12-19 Haynes 1987- 1993 Dodge Dakota Repair Manual
New brakes have nothing to do with it. The prolem is with the Anti-lock Brake System, and not the brakes themselves. Take it to a professional.
when this light is on it means that there is something wrong with your anti-lock-brake system and you should go get it checked.
More clearly detailed please. And I would love to know how you determined it to be the "anti lock brake light" making the sound even with the car off??
If the Anti-lock Brake System ( ABS ) warning light is on , a problem has been detected with the Anti-lock Brake System It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on you still have " normal " brakes
If it is the normal Red brake light that means that either your parking brake is not all the way down or you are low on Brake fluid in main reservoir located on the brake Booster by the driver side up against the firewall. If it is a yellow (ABS or Anti-lock) light then there is an issue with either your sensors(sensors are probably dirty) or computer(more expensive to replace).
you need a new brake booster
because there is a problem with your anti-lock brakes
The brake fluid may be low. If it is low, it is a sign that you are in need of brake work soon.
If the light is on your dashboard it would be the Anti-lock Brake System
