Fusion is harder to control/contain than fission.

The Sun is fusion energy and we are 150 000 000 kilometers away, it is still dangerous to be exposed to that radiation for many consecutive hours. Inside the Earth, and many rocks, have ongoing fission and it is no trouble to live on the surface of this planet.

Nuclear fission Is definitely more dangerous just look at what the atom bomb called "fat man"

Nuclear fusion will not produce high level radioactive waste. It also will not require mining and refining. Some people believe it will have a reduced likelihood of catastrophic accidents.

Fission, since fusion produces mainly (non-radioactive) helium. Also because we can't really do fusion on a power-generating scale yet.

What isdifference nuclear fission and nuclear fission?

The difference between Fusion and Fission is that Fission is easier to do and produces more energy than fusion reactions. However fission can be dangerous and is used in Nuclear reactors. Fusion however is safer and produces less energy but safely. It is quite difficult to cause a Fusion reaction however.

Does nuclear fusion produce much less energy per atom than nuclear fission?

Nuclear fusion produce energy 400 times more than nuclear fission for the same mass.

What is the benefit of nuclear fusion and What is one thing nuclear fission and nuclear fusion have in common?

nuclear fusion make more energy and they both make energy and have waste products

Compare and contrast nuclear fission and nuclear fu sion?

Fission is when two particles are split to make energy while fusion combines to particles. The result of fission is usually used up radioactive material while fusion results in helium. Fusion makes more energy than fission

Compare nuclear fission and nuclear fusion?

Nuclear fusion is the process of squeezing two lighter atoms together to make heavier atoms; nuclear fission is the process of splitting heavier atoms into lighter ones. In both processes, some of the mass of the original atoms are converted into energy; fusion tends to convert more mass into energy than fission does, so fusion tends to create more energy. Heavier atoms needed for a fission chain reaction tend to be unstable and radioactive, and thus the fission process tends to produce more radioactivity.

How nuclear fusion differ to nuclear fission in terms of energy release?

Energy from nuclear fusion is around 400 times more than that of nuclear fission for same mass.

What is the best definition of nuclear fusion?

Nuclear fusion is the joining of two or more nuclei into one nucleus (apex) CORRECT ANSWER!!!!!!

Why are thermonuclear bombs are more disastrous than nuclear bombs?

Nuclear bombs use nuclear fission of some heavy element, usually uranium or plutonium. Thermonuclear bombs use the detonation of a fission bomb to ignite the fusion of hydrogen. Such weapons are more powerful than ordinary nuclear weapons because nuclear fusion releases more energy than nuclear fission, and because the process of fusion itself can be used to ignite more fission.

Is nuclear fusion more cheaper and easier to produce then nuclear fission?

No. Just the opposite.

Why fusion reaction are more energetic than fission reactions?

Nuclear fission does not produce more energy than nuclear fusion. In nuclear fusion (6.4 MeV) per nucleon is given out which is much greater than the energy given out per nucleon (1 MeV) during a nuclear fission reaction.

What is fusion and fission related to?

Fusion and fission is related to combining (fusion) or splitting (fission) radioactive nuclei, in both cases releasing binding energy (The Strong Atomic Force). Fission is more commonly used in nuclear power plants and A-Bombs, while fusion is more commonly used in H-Bombs and in the Stars.

A reaction in which small nuclei combine to form a heavier nucleus?

That is nuclear fission. An example is that of a Uranium-239 atom undergoing beta decay. That is, a neutron in the nucleus ejects and electron, becoming a proton, resulting in Uranium-239 becoming Neptunium-239.
