I was hoping to get a definite answer too
The green light is the receiving end and the yellow light is the transmitter, when they are both aligned properly.
Just hose it down and it should come off.

Certain snakes use it to find warmblooded prey. IR penetrates fog and dust. Military use it like snakes, but more precisely. For "invisible" light beams (people can't see it ... thus invisible) for control (mouse, garage door).
You have a sensor at each track. Each sensor has a red or green light. Move the sensor until the light turns green. Use a string if you have to. The sensors have to "see" each other.
No.
Information about a garage door sensor can be found at stores which sell security systems for homes. Home Depot offers garage sensors for sale, as does Brand Motion, Lowes and Front Point Security.
When a certain device that is programmed to open a particular garage door is used what happens in order to get the garage door open? If the device used to get the garage door to open sends a signal when pressed, to a sensor in the garage door that opens the garage door, does that device use an encrypted key in the signal in order to get the door to open and insure that the signal is coming from someone who is authorized to open the door?

With an electric garage door opener/closer, there are systems to prevent the door from closing on a child who might be in the way. If the infrared sensor across the door is blocked by a leaf or any other object, the door will close and open immediately, or not close at all. If there is a rock or other object that is pushing against the door as it tries to finish closing, the door will immediately open. Sometimes a moth may construct a cocoon in the sensor, blocking the IR and producing similar results.

If you have a garage door that opens and closes electronically, then check the side of your garage closest to the door for sensors that would be on both sides of the door. If the sun is still out, and shining into the sensors, that may be why. To fix this, stand outside your garage, and arrange your shadow over the sensor, then press the button. Your shadow must be over the sensor until it is finished closing, otherwise it will not work. If this doesn't work, it probably needs to be repaired.
Products that are available for garage door security include having an electronic opener, having a security light with motion sensor above the door and lock it with a secure shield.
There are a couple simple ways to fix a sticking garage door. The simplest is to make sure the area around the sensor is clear of debris. Double check to make sure the door is on track.
