It isn't. Evolution is just something that happens where you have populations of organisms. To any individual organism doesn't matter one hoot that its distant ancestor was different than itself, or that its remote descendants will be different again.
organic evolution
Biological evolution is the process of changes that occur in living beings that can be passed on to their offspring. Chemical evolution is the process of changes that occur in substances. However, scientists have found that these substances have changed to form organic molecules, meaning that they have created life from nonliving substances.

Perhaps you mean group evolution, your question is unclear. It is also important to note that most evolutionary biologists don't believe group evolution happens.

organic evolution
Evolution began with the first imperfectly replicating organic molecules. By which I mean the chemical precursors to life (something similar to RNA encased in a lipid bilayer). Evolution was around before the first things we would call 'life' by today's standards but was important in life beginning
Organic evolution is the process by which the genetic makeup of a species changes over time. There are several mechanisms by which this can happen: natural selection, genetic drift (chance), migration and mutation. So natural selection is one possible way in which evolution can take place. Most biologists agree that natural selection is the most important mechanism of evolution. This mechanism was first discovered by Charles Darwin and, independently. by Alfred Wallace.
organic evolution is thus the progressive development of animals and plant from ancestors of different forms and function
