First,Each and every paganistic society is polytheistic. This is because of the god and goddess. They had so many different aspects to them, You had to divide it up. For example, Bastet is the Egyptian Goddess of pleasure"not sex, happiness, ripening of wheat, the moon and the sun. You could say "Oh, great bastet:. Or you could say "Oh, Great Egyptian Goddess From the Old Kingdon, With a catlike bidy, Who rules over the sun and moon, hapiness, and fertility". It's just easier to be polytheistic.
Yes. Paganism is polytheistic, meaning they believe in many deities- Gods and Goddesses alike.
It's polytheistic (worshipping many gods/goddesses) rather than monotheistic (worshipping one god)

Paganism is a Christian term used to mean any religion that was not part of the Judeo-Christian heritage, sometimes now used to mean any polytheistic religion. Originally it meant just the religion of the countryside and was first used at a time when Christianity was dominant in the Roman cities but traditional farmers and villagers still followed the old ways.So Christians would generally consider the original religions and mythologies of the Native Americans to be pagan religions.Examples of paganism such as Celtic and Nordic paganism or African traditional religions do have related characteristics. Primarily they are all Polytheistic and have shamanic traditions and rituals involving worshiping nature. The viewpoint is shared between Paganism and Native American mythology that in part the natural world is inherently capable of communicating spirituality. A central posit is that 'God' or the spiritual is revealed by natural wilderness rather then by mans ability to control nature.

Paganism, as a term, originally referred to the religious practices of rural populations in the Roman Empire, particularly those who adhered to polytheistic beliefs. The word itself comes from the Latin "paganus," meaning "rural" or "country dweller." Notably, ancient religions in regions such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and the Celtic lands are often considered early examples of paganism.

Hellenistic and paganism are not the same, though they can overlap. Hellenistic refers to the cultural and historical period following the conquests of Alexander the Great, characterized by the spread of Greek culture and influence across a vast region. Paganism, on the other hand, generally refers to polytheistic religious traditions that were practiced in various societies, including those influenced by Hellenistic culture, but is not limited to it. Thus, while Hellenistic culture included pagan beliefs, not all pagan practices are inherently Hellenistic.
