down south the punishments were way worse than they would be farther up the river. slaves that were sent down there were not worth anything to their masters anymore because they ran away or stole money etc, it was a way to punish them. often they never saw their families again and died down there
'Sold down South' or 'Sold down the river' refered to the generally more brutal treatment slaves received in Mississippi and Louisiana. The Confederate president Jefferson Davis was unusual in being a Mississippi landowner who treated his slaves so well that they didn't want their freedom.

Zebulon Pike was a Cadet in the military when he was chose to go on an expedition to find the source of the Mississippi River. He was later sent on a journey later named "The Pike Expedition." On his journey he would explore the Louisiana Territory ( sold by France to america.) Pike found a 14'110 ft. mountain which he named Pike's Peak but he never did reach the mountain. He tried climbing the other mountain and connect at the top but when he and his crew were walking in knee high snow they gave up on trying to make it and went back down the mountain. He died on April 27, 1813 in York(now Toronto),Canada. he was crushed by debris of rock the size of him flying through the air from a British explosion and his body was shipped back to Sackets Harbor
I found mine at Target, but they might be sold out. You can probably get one off of Amazon.com or eBay though.

"Sold by boundary" typically refers to a real estate transaction in which the property is sold based on a specific physical boundary, such as a fence, wall, or natural feature like a river or road. This means that the buyer and seller have agreed upon the specific area of land being sold, as defined by these physical boundaries.
