Hi Kati, Unfortunately, there is polyvinyl acetate in our chicle gum base. We're working on a new formulation which will not have any synthetic materials, but we're not there yet. Please check back later this summer. Debbie - Show quoted text -

Hi there,

I am possibly interested in buying your gum base in bulk, and want to make sure that there are no ingredients in it such as acetic acid ethenyl ester/Vinyl acetate/PVAc/PVA/VAM/polyvinyl acetate.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Warmly,

Kati

Because it provides the same properties to gum as chicle gut is cheaper. Glee Gum was the last manufacturer reported to be using chicle instead of polyvinyl acetate. MM

Polyvinyl acetate made from?

Polyvinyl acetate is made from the polymerization of vinyl acetate monomers. The process involves linking together multiple vinyl acetate molecules to form long chains of polyvinyl acetate, which is a type of synthetic polymer commonly used in adhesives and paints.

What is polyvinyl acetate?

Polyvinyl acetate is a synthetic resin used in adhesives, paints, and coatings. It is known for its strong adhesive properties and is commonly found in white glue.

What type of glue is used in cardboard tubes?

An industrial polyvinyl acetate.

When is polyvinyl chloride used?

According to SpecialChem, an online network of industry experts, polyvinyl is a resin formed by combining different vinyl monomers. Polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol are examples of polyvinyl resins. Polyvinyl acetate is often used to make glues and adhesives, or to coat paper and textiles to give them a shine. Polyvinyl acetate is also an ingredient in cosmetics.

What things are made of polyvinyl?

Polyvinyl materials, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), can be used to make a variety of products including pipes, vinyl siding, flooring, and medical devices. Additionally, polyvinyl acetate (PVA) is commonly used in adhesives, paints, and coatings.

Can you use polystyrene with polyvinyl alcohol polyvinyl acetate to make screen photo emulsion?

Polystyrene, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyvinyl acetate are not typically used in screen printing emulsions. Screen emulsions are usually made from light-sensitive compounds like diazo or photopolymer emulsions. These compounds provide the necessary properties for the emulsion to adhere to the screen and create a durable stencil for printing.

What chemicals are used to laminate glass?

The bonding materials for glass layers in laminated glass are polyvinyl butyral or ethylene vinyl acetate.

What solvent can be used with polyvinyl alcohol?

Polyvinyl acetate is soluble in a number of organic solvents. Solubility of polyvinyl acetate is directly related to the volatility of the solvent; the more volatile the solvent, the more soluble the polyvinyl acetate. Some of the most common solvents, ranked in order from the most volatile to the least, are listed below.1. diethyl ether (very volatile, water miscible) 2. acetone (best solvent that is commonly used) 3. benzene (very toxic) 4. ethylene dichloride (very toxic, non-water miscible) 5. methanol (toxic, cumulative poison) 6. methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) (toxic) 7. ethanol (denatured alcohols may be toxic) 8. toluene (slightly toxic) 9. xylene (slightly toxic) 10. amyl acetate (slightly water miscible) 11.ethyl acetate

What type of polymer is polyvinyl?

Polyvinyl refers to a group of polymers derived from vinyl monomers, with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) being the most well-known example. PVC is a synthetic thermoplastic polymer widely used in construction, plumbing, and electrical applications due to its durability and resistance to environmental degradation. Other types of polyvinyl polymers include polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), commonly used in adhesives and paints. These polymers are characterized by their versatility and can be modified for various applications.
