Some Christians believe that Prayer is the only true means to speak to God. The majority believe it is a way of telling him their feelings about the day, a general way of communicating.

If you thought you could speak to your relatives or Girlfriend/Boyfriend just by putting your hands together and closing your eyes, wouldn't you find it important ;)
